Comprehensive cyber security offering

This fall is all about cyber security. Materna Radar Cyber Security (MRCS) has recently presented its entire portfolio for the first time at the it-sa trade fair for information security in Nuremberg. In November, we look forward to seeing you at the Executive Cyber Security Day 2023 (XCSDay 2023) at five locations in Germany and Austria.

Almost 19,500 visitors and 795 exhibitors met at Europe’s largest IT security trade fair, it-sa Expo & Congress, in Nuremberg in October 2023. The industry event is considered a special highlight in the Cyber Security Month of October, which is initiated annually by the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA). It is a must-attend event for IT managers, compliance officers and information security associates.

MRCS introduces itself

Materna Radar Cyber Security presented the three main pillars of its own overall portfolio in the security segment for the first time at it-sa:

  • Cyber security consulting, from a GAP analysis to topics such as information security management systems and the revision and development of security concepts
  • Cyber Security Integration, focusing in particular on the requirements, commissioning and service demands of a Security Operations Center (SOC)
  • Cyber Security Services, building on the knowledge built up over a decade in the area of SOC-as-a-Service. MRCS demonstrated its wide-ranging expertise in Endpoint Detection & Response and Managed XDR. All under the special condition of “Operated in Europe”.

In addition to these offerings Materna Virtual Solution presented its solutions for secure, ultra-mobile working and introduced cbs Corporate Business Solutions’ Cyber Security solution for SAP applications.

A holistic approach to cyber security

In his presentation at it-sa, Dr. Christian Polster, Managing Director of Materna Radar Cyber Security, explained why cyber security needs to be considered holistically and from a European perspective. In particular, he addressed the turning point we are currently facing in the cyber security sector and described related changes. In addition to the measures taken in the area of cyber security, it is particularly important to work on cyber resilience. This means keeping an eye on long-term resilience and planning the necessary steps in advance in the event of an attack. Under the motto “safe failure”, Polster referred to the MRCS offer to support companies in quickly regaining their ability to act after a successful attack and minimizing economic damage.

The Security Operations Center (SOC) is at the heart of a company’s cyber resilience. When setting up a SOC, it is important to consider the 3Ps: Product, People, Processes; i.e. technology, processes and experts. A mix of automated attack detection and support from SOC specialists working in Europe is the formula for success here.

Future projects and collaborations with institutions at EU level were also on our agenda. The meetings with German authority representatives and the Secretary General of the European Cyber Security Organization (ECSO) Luigi Rebuffi were opportunities to talk about the threat situation and tailored detection techniques.

Executive Cyber Security Days 2023 (XCS Day)

As a supplement to it-sa, MRCS offers its own cyber security events to further deepen the upcoming topics. The XCS Day 2023 roadshow serves to exchange experiences and present best-practice examples in the area of cyber security. In addition to members of the Materna Group’s Executive Board, such as CEO Martin Wibbe, will also be on the podium and offer the opportunity to share experiences and expertise. The event will also give visitors access to the broad know-how of many Materna Group experts. The event will begin with a panel talk under the motto “It’s always the others who get hacked!”. This will be followed by a discussion on what to do if an attack is successful.

The Executive Cyber Security Days 2023 will take place in several German cities and in Vienna in November 2023. Participation in this event is free of charge.
